Le Thu crowned Miss Mekong Delta

VietNamNet Bridge – A girl from Kien Giang province, Vo Thi Le Thu, won the Miss Mekong Delta pageant crown at the finals held in Can Tho city on February 23.

 

As well as the Miss Mekong Delta title, this third-year law student at Can Tho University also took four more prizes: Best Hair, Best body, Miss Tourism and Miss Television. Le Thu obtained a total bonus of VND65 million and she will enter the finals of Miss Vietnam 2008.

 

Le Thu won the audience’s sentiment for her good performance in the interview round. When she was asked “What Mekong Delta cuisines are your favorite and would you want to introduce to others?” Thu said she would choose snake-head salted fish, Pia cake and Phu Quoc fish sauce, a specialty of Kien Giang province, her hometown.

 

Le Thu participated in several beauty contests. She was among the top ten beauties of the Miss Vietnam Global 2007 pageant.

 

The first runner-up of Miss Mekong Delta is Ly Phap Viet Thuy from Hau Giang Province, who also won Best in ao dai. A Khmer girl, Thach Thi Hong Nhung from Can Tho, took second-runner up, Best Skin and Best Answer.
