VietNamNet Bridge - Performing artists were busy during Tet. Some even had to rush from one venue to another in full make-up, with a pair of them almost getting into trouble because of this.

Actress and MC Nguyet Nhi said with a laugh, "When actor Nguyen Chau, disguised as an old man took me on his motorbike from Suoi Tien Theme Park to another performance, with me wearing a sexy costume, a group of young men followed us."
"They thought he was kidnapping me."

Comedian Hoai Linh is called "King of the stage" due to his packed schedule that included 15 performances on some days during Tet.

He performed at the city theatre, Mang Non Theatre, and Dam Sen Park from 9am to midnight every day during the festival.

"I only slept five hours a day on these days, but I felt energetic and happy seeing my fans."

This year’s busiest woman artist was Hong Van, director of Phu Nhuan Theatre.

Van and others like Minh Nhi and Anh Vu also have shows at some other theatres in the city and western and central provinces until February 15.

Artists of cai luong (reformed opera) in HCM City were busy on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, with most having three or four live shows on TV channels based in western provinces.

Despite being busy, artists also took part in charity activities.

Cai luong star Chau Thanh, actor Ly Hung, and many others gave performances and presented Tet gifts to leptosy patients at Binh Minh Village in Dong Nai Province’s Long Thanh Commune on New Year.

Popular cai Luong actress Le Thuy and her friends gave away gifts to poor people in Binh Thuan Province.

On Wednesday, she and her colleague, actor Minh Vuong, toured Phu Quoc island to entertain troops stationed there.

Thuy said she and her colleagues took out time for charity, adding it made them feel "warm".
