VietNamNet Bridge – Ho Chi Minh City residents can enjoy an exhibition of ornamental trees and pet animals on National Day September 2, which ahs attracted participants from all parts of the country.
The week-long second annual fair at Tao Dan Park, organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Ornamental Fish, Bonsai Trees and Flowers, and opening on Aug. 22, will see booths put up by farming associations, handicraft villages, and local agricultural businessmen from 10 provinces and cities.
On show would be ornamental plants and flowers, bonsai trees, ornamental fish, Phu Quoc island dogs, and stone and wood products, Vo Van Cuong, chairman of the association, said.
“Unlike last year, visitors can buy directly from stalls”, he said, adding 84 exhibitors had registered to participate.
He said there would be plant contests and competition for the best ornamental and fighting birds.
“The fair will provide an opportunity for customers, artisans, and other service providers to compare notes.”
There will be four seminars in which local and foreign experts would explain about plants, nutritional regimen for orchids, ornamental fish, and dogs and about veterinary services, he said.
HCM City, known as a production and distribution centre for ornamental plants and animals, has farm growing ornamental trees and flowers on some 1,000ha and exporting them to many countries.
